About

Who am I?

My name is Amy, I am an enthusiastic outdoor explorer, cold water dipper, dog lover, Mum to 2 young adults, wife, daughter, sister, and a friend. Like you, I’m human and have faced my own struggles, I became a counsellor after my own journey in therapy. It was a transformative experience of feeling heard, growth and awareness. It wasn’t easy at the beginning as I had so many beliefs, thoughts and fears to unravel, but my awareness grew, and life became clearer. My background in youth work, education, family worker, social work, and outdoor pursuits has shaped how I work: with empathy, patience, and a genuine belief in the strength and worth of every person I meet.

I can offer..

I’m an integrative counsellor working with adults and young people aged 12 and over. At Willow and Waves Counselling, I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you can talk openly, feel heard, and begin to explore what matters most to you. Life can feel overwhelming at times whether you’re facing anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, relationship issues, or simply a sense of being stuck. Counselling offers a chance to pause, reflect, and start moving forward with greater awareness and confidence.

Here to listen. Here to help.

My intention is always to create a space where you can breathe, reflect, and begin to make sense of your feelings and experiences. Counselling isn’t about rushing to quick fixes — it’s about giving yourself permission to slow down, to notice what’s happening inside you, and to find a way forward that feels authentic.
